CEDARS has been a part of the Geist family beginning with Jack's father, who started giving many years ago. Connie served on CEDARS board beginning in 1996 and chaired the annual dinner for years.

(Extra)Ordinary People Make a Lasting Impact at CEDARS

Chris and Michelle Wagner have built their lives on a strong foundation of faith. Both focus their time on the people and causes that matter most to them. Their children and grandchildren fill their hearts and their free time. Chris has volunteered his time as a board member at CEDARS for over 20 years. Michelle shares her time with Catholic Social Services, the Newman Center and St. Peters Catholic Church.

Keep on Dancing, Rose!

As a young woman, Rose Gripp got a job at the Sylvania factory making picture tubes. For the first time in her life, she was earning her own paycheck. Right away, Rose decided to dedicate a portion of that paycheck to helping children through various charities, including CEDARS Home for Children Foundation.

Miss Miladi Hintz

Miss Miladi Hintz lived a good and decent life. Her friends and neighbors described her as "a blessing" and "an inspiration." She was a dedicated teacher and touched the lives of over 1,000 students during her career. Although Miss Hintz passed away in 2009 at the age of 99 years, she continues to touch the lives of children even today.

Loyalty, frugality, humility, hard work, patriotism and level—headedness shaped a generation that Tom Brokaw called the "Greatest Generation." A generation whose lives were influenced by the Great Depression, the Dust Bowl, World Wars I & II, guided the countries of the Western World to become an economic powerhouse.

Helping Kids Heal

Today, Dan Till’s legacy is helping kids at CEDARS find hope and begin to heal from catastrophic events such as abuse and violence. Caring staff who are specially trained in trauma recovery welcome kids day and night. In fact, last year alone, CEDARS provided 86,725 nights of safe care for children and youth unable to stay at home.
